Cycling Road bike is a small event in cycling. All athletes start collectively at the start line and are placed in the order in which they arrive at the finish line. Road cycling originated at the first modern Olympic Games in 1896, but only included individual races; in 1912, a road team race was created and included in the Olympic Games, and in 1984, the women's individual road race was included in the Olympic Games. The highest organizing body for road cycling is the International Cycling Union, founded on April 15, 1900 and headquartered in Lausanne, Switzerland. The highest organizing body in China is the China Cycling Association, founded in Beijing in 1959.

The overall length of the bicycle should not exceed 185 cm, the width should not exceed 50 cm and the weight should be not less than 6.8 kg. The seat length should be between 24-30 cm, the distance between the central axle and the ground should be between 24-30 cm, and the diameter of the front and rear wheels of the bicycle must be the same. The wheels shall have a maximum diameter of 70 cm and a minimum diameter of 55 cm. The bicycle used should be a dead flywheel, and no shifting device or brake should be installed.

Road races require safety and clear road markings as they take place outdoors. Every 5 km, the distance to the finish is marked. For uphill sections, each kilometer should be marked. A loop section of at least 800 meters long near the start is required as a warm-up area. A start line for the individual race should be set up with a starting platform and a countdown clock placed in front of the starting platform to prompt athletes to start.
