The mountain bike event is a small event in the cycling program. All athletes start collectively at the start line and are ranked in the order in which they arrive at the finish line. Mountain biking originated in the United States when Scott, a student at the University of California, modified a regular bicycle and in 1991, the World Cup of Mountain Biking was held for the first time in San Francisco, USA, and in 1996, it became an official event of the Olympic Games. The highest organizing body for road cycling is the International Cycling Union, founded on April 15, 1900 and headquartered in Lausanne, Switzerland. The highest organizing body in China is the China Cycling Association, founded in Beijing in 1959.

Riding Equipment

Helmets

Usually will design air holes in the shell to guide backflow and heat dissipation, and insect mesh on the liner. What's more important is to be able to protect the head well from serious injuries. Riders should choose a light weight helmet with good wind conduction, breathability and relevant safety certification. [5] 

Riding shoes

Cycling shoes have special self-locking shoes and off-road cycling shoes. Self-locking shoes generally have a carbon brazed sole with a small recessed groove in the sole to prevent disengagement with the card lock on the pedals, which locks the rider's self-locking shoes together with the pedals when riding. Cross-country riding shoes have a deep non-slip pattern on the sole, the sole is generally very hard, and the upper has a breathable mesh. [5]
